FIRST AID/CPR/AED for Schools and the Community
In this course, participants will learn how
to prevent & respond to emergencies;
how to prioritize care in emergency
situations; how to assist individuals with
sudden illness, bleeding emergencies;
burns; muscle, bone and joint injuries;
heat & cold-related emergencies;
Adult/Infant/Child CPR; and
conscious/unconscious choking adult,
infant and child.  This course is designed
for schools and the community.


FIRST AID/CPR/AED for the Workplace





In this course, participants will learn how to prevent & respond to
emergencies; how to prioritize care in emergency situations; how to assist
individuals with sudden illness, bleeding emergencies; burns; muscle,
bone and joint injuries; heat & cold-related emergencies;
Adult/Infant/Child CPR; and conscious/unconscious choking adult, infant
and child.  This course is designed for the workplace.












AED – (Automated External Defibrillator)
In this course, participants will learn how to use an AED as well as
precautions to follow when using an AED.  AED stands for automated
external defibrillator.  It is a machine that analyzes the heart’s rhythm and
if necessary, tells you to deliver a shock to a victim of sudden cardiac
arrest.  

STANDARD FIRST AID
In this course, participants will learn how to prevent & respond to
emergencies; how to prioritize care in emergency situations; how to assist
individuals with sudden illness, bleeding emergencies; burns; muscle,
bone and joint injuries; heat & cold-related emergencies.


PET FIRST AID  
Participants will get hands-on practice in first aid techniques on our
manikins.  “Fluffy” is our tortoiseshell cat.  “Spot” is our Dalmatian.

In this course participants will learn:
  •        How to get emergency care for injured or ill pet.
  •        How to prevent pet injuries and illness and how to protect        
    themselves when caring for an ill or injured pet.
  •        How to perform rescue techniques on injured or ill Dogs &
    Cats, including: CPR, rescue breathing, controlling bleeding,
    splinting, and other emergency care.

Each participant will receive a First Aid for Cats & Dogs book.  This book
was created in collaboration with the Humane Society of America and
includes all the care learned in the course.


FIRST AID AND PREPAREDNESS FOR WORKPLACES
Streamlined to fit into busy work schedules, this interactive presentation is
ideal for employees who want to learn lifesaving skills, but do not need to
receive certification to meet OSHA regulations.  A 90-minute session is
packed with information to help employees stay prepared with valuable
lifesaving skills.

First Aid, CPR & AED  for the Lay Respondeer Instructor Course
Learn to train students in CPR, AED and First Aid.  You will review course
materials and learn presentation techniques, evaluation methods, and
procedures for preparing American Red Cross reports.
Prerequisites:

·         Individuals must be at least 17 years of age.
·         Hold a current basic level certificate in the course(s) in which you  
   want to become an instructor.

Requirements for Health and Safety Instructors:
There are three basic steps to becoming an American Red Cross Health
and Safety Instructor.  
1.)    Complete the basic level class that you want to teach, or hold
  current certification.
2.)    Attend all sessions of the instructor training course.
3.)    Sign a Volunteer or AP Agreement.  

To maintain your authorization, you must teach at least two Red Cross
courses in your specialty area before your current authorization expires.
